Bus to and from Reykjavik City Center
The best way to get to Reykjavík city center is to take the public bus no. 1. You can take the bus from Hotel Nordurey (Norðurey Hotel Reykjavík Road). Hotel Nordurey is about 5-7 min walk from Vibrant Iceland Hostel. The bus trip will take around 20-30 minutes.
When using the Bus app or the Bus website, put in the hostel address “Kaplahraun 9b, 220 Hafnarfjörður” in search to find the best way from your starting point.
It’s the same to get from Reykjavík city center to Vibrant Iceland Hostel, you go on bus no. 1 headed to Hafnarfjörður and stop at Norðurey Hotel Reykjavík Road.

Night buses during weekends
Strætó drives from downtown Reykjavík every Friday and Saturday night from 01:00 AM to about 04:30 AM and will drive to Hafnarfjörður, the night bus stops at Nordurey Hotel, 5-7 min walk from the hostel. The price is 920 ISK.
Public Bus to and from the Airport
The cheapest way to get to and from Keflavík International Airport is to take the public bus. When you arrive at Keflavík International Airport you will take bus number 55 to Fjörður in Hafnarfjörður, then you change to bus number 21 and head to Kaplakriki in Hafnafjörður, after that it is 5 min walk to Vibrant Iceland Hostel.
To take the public bus to the Keflavík International Airport from Vibrant Iceland Hostel you start by walking 5 min to Kaplakriki, then you take bus number 21 to Fjörður, and then you take bus number 55 to the Airport.
The trip will take around 1:30 hours give or take 20 minutes. The public bus runs from 06:35 to 22:55 Mon-Fri, 06:55 to 22:55 Sat, and 10:55 to 22:55 Sun.

Flybus to and from the Airport
The best way to get to Keflavík International Airport is to take the Flybus. You can take the Flybus from Hotel Nordurey. Hotel Nordurey is about 5-10 min walk from the Vibrant Iceland Hostel.
When you arrive at Keflavik International Airport, the Flybus departs in connection with all arriving passengers flights. Early, late or delayed flights – the Flybus will be waiting for you.
It takes about 45-50 minutes to drive from Reykjavík Bus Terminal to Keflavík Airport, so it is a little bit less from Hotel Nordurey. This time is based on normal road and weather conditions.
Most airlines request that passengers check in 2.5 – 3 hours before departure, see the Flybus schedule online. If you are arriving late at night or your flight is delayed, don’t worry, there will be a Flybus waiting for you.

Taxi in Iceland
